Artist Vito Bonanno next to his artwork in the Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr Gallery last fall.

New Haven is no stranger to the ever growing world of Food Trucks. Suddenly it feels like you can’t walk down the street without seeing something tasty on 4 wheels. Now there is another truck to add to the list, but instead of serving food local artist Vito Bonanno is dishing out art and awareness.

Early this week on the artist’s website he announced his new Indiegogo Campaign, Truck’N With Vito that aims to, “Promote the need for better access to art education and art vocational and entrepreneurial opportunities for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.” Learn more about the project in this inspiring video.

If you’re in New Haven, you may have seen Vito’s artwork around town. He has been featured in the Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery at the Arts Council as well as popular #ARTNHV galleries like Artspace and Creative Arts Workshop. Currently he is showing at the Umbrella Arts Gallery in NYC and will participate in the Bushwick Open Studios May 30, June 1 & 2.
