Project Storefronts announced a new POP UP art gallery coming to 55 Church Street in New Haven. This innovative campaign will feature various creative entrepreneurs and is set to officially open on Tuesday at 12pm. The first artist to showcase their work will be Gordon Skinner. His integrity art, as he likes to call it, has been making a splash throughout Connecticut and New York City. Currently, Skinner has a gallery space in Erector Square and was recently featured in the Arts Council’s Artists at Work exhibition that highlighted notable working artists in the Greater New Haven area. PopUp55, which is the name of the gallery, will replace an old ATM cove in the heart of Downtown just in time for the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.
The shop will be open on Thursday’s from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. and weekends from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. during the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.
